Fiber Internet Goes Live for Pittsfield Housing Authority Residents

Last week, the AccessPlus team joined leaders from the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI), the Pittsfield Housing Authority, and Massachusetts state officials to celebrate the GoLive of new fiber internet service for public housing residents in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

The event took place at Columbia Arms and marked the first phase of a project to bring modern fiber connectivity to 503 housing units across seven Pittsfield Housing Authority properties. In attendance from AccessPlus were Jason Cummnins, COO; Chaz Garrity, VP of Sales; Amanda Wheeler, VP of Client Relations; Matt Crocker, President; and Sonny Olah, Business Development.

AccessPlus was selected by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute in 2025 to deploy the fiber infrastructure supporting this initiative. “Being selected by MBI is an honor,” said Chaz Garrity. “It reflects our shared commitment to expanding digital access and opportunity for residents across Pittsfield.”

AccessPlus has been actively supporting the rollout of fiber internet to these buildings with informational materials and emails, along with on-site help sessions with the community. The Pittsfield Housing Authority will also provide digital skills training and technology resources to help residents make the most of their new connectivity.
